Bethany Convent, Solan (01.07.1992)

Himachal Pradesh known as Dev Bhoomi has a unique culture and to this stunning place at Solan Most Rev Gilbert Rego, the Bishop of Simla-Chandigarh Diocese, invited the Bethany Sisters to help in running St Luke’s School started in 1958 by the diocese. In response to this invitation a community was opened on 1 July 1992 with Sr Marceline Crasta BS as the Superior and Sr Ophelia Tauro BS and Sr Eulalia BS as members. For the people of this beautiful and close-knit city the sight of the sisters dressed in their religious garments was something strange. However, as Sr Marceline, the first Principal interacted with the people they became extremely welcoming and friendly. The school expanded rapidly with a new Primary School wing and an addition of KG and up-gradation into Higher Secondary.
