Hostel
“Educating isn’t a profession, but an attitude, a way of being. To educate you must go out
yourselves and be admits the young, accompanying them in the stages of their growth
standing beside them” (Pope Francis)
Pope Francis in Fratelli Tuti speaks about a universal love that promotes persons to favour
an investment to help the slow, the weak or the less talented at finding opportunities in life. If
a society is governed primarily by the critiques of market freedom and efficiency, there is no
place someone born in poverty pr those lacking in good education and with little access to
adequate health care. It was with the same mind of providing a good education for the less
privileged that Fr Raymond opened its doors to children of all categories
Looking around our country specially the Northern parts, we see a lot of inequalities of
economic status. The rich live a luxurious life while the poor lack the basic necessities of life.
Our founder stood by the poor and wanted to empower them through education. It was his
exhortation to us to go to the interior villages seeking young girls who have no opportunities
for study. It was towards this goal that he had set up orphanages and hostels. Hostel ministry
is one of our major thrusts.
During this digital age while the villages are not digitally connected, we need to give every
child an opportunity to learn and provide a Home away from Home. We endeavour at the
grass root level to strengthen the education system and play a significant role in ensuring
that every child specially the poor and the marginalized receive opportunities to build a better
future through education.
