Bethany Convent, Tarasiwaniya, Bhopal (29.07.2018)

Bethany Mission, Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) as an affiliated community of Bethany Convent, Khandwa was inaugurated with a prayer on 8th June 2017 in Archbishop’s House with Sr Laveena Pinto BS as the first mission superior and Sr Navina BS as the member of the new mission.

Archbishop Leo Cornelius of Archdiocese of Bhopal was requesting the Superior General to open a community at Bhopal to collaborate with him in the International School for Excellence for the past three years. Archbishop Leo Cornelius renewed his request to have Bethany Sisters at Tarasevania, Bhopal for his new project of International School for Excellence. Faith formation, teaching catechism and Education is the main ministry. The archbishop has a vision for development of enlightened leadership.

The bishop built a beautiful convent building for the sisters. It was inaugurated on 29th July 2018 by the archbishop Leo Cornelius. On the same day Sister Lillis, the Asst Superior canonically erected Bethany Convent, Tarasevania. Sr Laveena Pinto was officially installed as the first Superior of the convent by Sister Erasma the Provincial Superior. Srs Navina Pinto and Juliana Tauro as the members. The Provincial Councillors and other sisters of the Province were present to witness the occasion.

St Joseph Convent International School for Excellence stands tall in the village at Tarasevania. After the example of Jesus the great architect of education the sisters are called upon to serve the students with great compassion, care and love. They are also called upon to give special attention to teaching the Catholic children and to bring them up in life and to make their future bright.
